Nope, all official and inofficial Distributions and packages for “my OS” (OS X Server) is so broken that you can't use any of them to even start Prosody. I had to build from source. (First Lua, then Prosody, works fine now.)

I'm sure my installation ended up with very different default settings.

But different packages with changed defaults underline my argument that you always need to check the actual configuration.

I'm guilty of erroneous extrapolation from an in complete data set.
