Getting the cost of universally (by browser vendors) trusted
certificates to a manageable level for universities and similar
institutions. Basically its included in the usual DFN internet services,
so there is no additional (visible) cost for me except filling in the
form and walking over to the cert guy. This has greatly increased the
general usage of non-self-signed certificates and SSL in general over
here. Previously one had to either get a free EDU certificate from some
CA that offered them somewhere (usually with a few nits like 'doesn't
work in browser X') or get turned down by the boss because certificates
from the usual CAs are expensive.

Ciao,

Alexander Wuerstlein.
